Idealware, the nonprofit resource that offers articles and online training about software options for nonprofit organizations, has compiled a Social Media Resource Library, to make it easier for nonprofits to learn about the ever-changing Social Media landscape. Housed on the Social Bookmarking site Delicious, this growing library offers articles from nonprofit and social media experts that have been tagged for easy searching.
Briefly: Social Bookmarking let’s you save a link to a web page for later reference in an online bookmarking community (such as Delicious, Stumbled Upon, Digg, and many more) and provides options for you to categorize (tag) and share your saved link with others. You can also see if the the link you saved was bookmarked by other community users (to gauge its popularity and influence), and see the community’s most popular bookmarks under various tags. Social bookmarking can provide a good source of web traffic to the bookmarked site, and in some cases provide the bookmark submitter with backlinks to their webpage.
